Тема: High-Multiplicity NLO QCD Predictions from Generalized Unitarity

Precise understanding of the Standard Model is crucial for the ongoing research program at the LHC, for both Standard Model measurements and beyond the Standard Model searches. Leading order predictions typically suffer from large theoretical uncertainties, thus computation of radiative corrections involving loop amplitudes is called for. As an alternative to Feynman diagrams, Generalized Unitarity methods allow to construct loop amplitudes from tree amplitudes in a way amenable for automation. I will review general features of this approach and some specifics of our implementation in a new version of the BlackHat library. Numerical stability and a mild scaling with number of external particles makes this approach suitable for providing NLO prediction for high-multiplicity processes. As an example I show phenomenological predictions for W b¯b+n jets (n=0,1,2,3) production at the LHC.
